Head Peer Mentor Selection
Role and Responsibilities
The Multicultural Peer Mentoring Program accepts general peer mentors each year to be paired with an incoming first-year student. Students interested in becoming mentors must complete an application and may be invited to attend an interview with the Head Peer Mentors, depending on the number of applicants and available spots.
Once selected, students complete a brief training course outlining expectations, tips and strategies, and an overview of campus resources. Peer mentors are also required to participate in The Catalyst, Ascending Leadership Workshops offered through the Student Activities Office. These workshops are designed to enhance leadership skills and equip peer mentors with the tools they need to succeed in their role.
Upon returning to campus, peer mentors attend a welcome dinner, where they are matched with their mentees.
