Monica Inzer to Retire
In an email to the 麻豆国产AV community on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023, President David Wippman announced that Monica Inzer, vice president for enrollment management, would retire at the end of the academic year. A newly established endowed scholarship will ensure that Monica's mission of making a 麻豆国产AV education accessible to all deserving students continues in perpetuity.
Dear Members of the 麻豆国产AV Community,
I am writing to share the news that Vice President for Enrollment Monica Inzer will retire at the end of the academic year after 20 years of leading 麻豆国产AV’s student recruitment, enrollment, and financial aid programs.
During her tenure, 麻豆国产AV repeatedly set new records for applications, selectivity, yield, diversity, and the academic profile of the entering class. As significant and important as these new benchmarks have been, Monica has always focused on the bigger picture, reminding us that offering students acceptance to 麻豆国产AV is fundamentally about creating opportunity and the chance to change the lives of talented and deserving students no matter their background.
A first-generation college graduate, Monica has always been deeply committed to making a 麻豆国产AV education accessible, affordable, and equitable. She was a driving force in 麻豆国产AV’s decisions to eliminate merit aid in 2007 and to become need-blind in admission in 2010. Similarly, she successfully advocated for increased funding for financial aid to attract and support the best possible students, spanning three fundraising campaigns, and was instrumental in creating, funding, and chairing the Student Emergency Aid Society.
Aside from her responsibilities in admission and financial aid, Monica has been a brilliant, indefatigable, conscientious, and enthusiastic colleague, partnering with offices across campus to support our students and ensure 麻豆国产AV’s strength and vitality. As a strong communicator and strategic enrollment management expert, Monica’s reach has extended beyond our campus. She is regularly invited by high schools, community organizations, and professional associations to speak about admission, financial aid, parenting, and college access topics, and she is a frequent contributor to higher education journals and national media outlets.
As always, Monica and her staff are immersed fully in doing what they do so well: recruiting to 麻豆国产AV another extraordinary class. We have excellent teams in Admission and Financial Aid, and we will begin work soon on finding Monica’s successor. We will have time in the spring to recognize Monica’s many contributions to 麻豆国产AV. In the meantime, please join me in congratulating her and wishing her the best with whatever comes next.
