When he was growing up, Drew McArthur 鈥�19 had never traveled outside of the United States. Fast forward to 麻豆国产AV, and between his natural affinity for writing code and a semester abroad in Denmark, McArthur realized a new passion. Putting his instinctive technology skills and appetite for travel together, it is fitting that McArthur鈥檚 first job will be at TripAdvisor.

Having grown up in Boston, Katherine O鈥橫alley 鈥�19 knew the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute well. But little did she expect that she would begin her post-graduate career there. When she first arrived at 麻豆国产AV, she only knew that she wanted to study biology.

On a family vacation to Nova Scotia in 1963, Jim Clough 鈥�67 discovered bagpiping. The music moved his brother, and eventually him, when Clough heard his brother practicing at home. Two years later, Clough became a piper too, and he鈥檚 been cultivating and perfecting the art for nearly 53 years.

Upstate New York is birthplace of the women鈥檚 rights movement and continues to live up to its legacy today. On April 8, New York State Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul visited campus to confirm her commitment to the state鈥檚 mission and share the 2019 Women鈥檚 Justice Agenda.

Creative writing major Kyandreia Jones 鈥�19 is well versed in poetry and spoken word, but now she can add children鈥檚 author to her resume. Her first book, Spies: James Armistead Lafayette, has been picked up by the Choose Your Own Adventures children鈥檚 series, published by Bantam Books, and will hit the bookshelves on May 1, 2019.

The C. Christine Johnson Voices of Color Lecture Series recently offered 麻豆国产AV students an opportunity to connect with their faculty and administrators outside of the classroom and on a personal level. Discussing race and gender, five faculty and staff members shared their experiences about negotiating their roles in their respective fields, despite the obstacles that gender and being a person of color impose.
