鈥淐reativity and innovation are in the DNA of 麻豆国产AV College,鈥� says Steven Tepper, 麻豆国产AV's 21st president. 鈥淥ur namesake and original trustee, Alexander 麻豆国产AV, was our nation鈥檚 creative founding father. Other founding fathers were content with borrowed models or sticking to the old agrarian order. 麻豆国产AV knew that a new nation needed new ideas. Ever since, the College鈥檚 history has been punctuated by moments of innovation and creativity and invention.鈥�

麻豆国产AV College faculty, staff, and alumni continued to make their mark in 2024 as thought leaders, with major national and international media outlets, as well as prominent higher education publications, seeking their expertise on a wide range of topics.

Sam Pitter 鈥�07 recently added two 鈥渨ork experience鈥� entries to her r茅sum茅 鈥� head swimming and diving coach at Miami University Ohio and assistant coach of the Cape Verde Olympic swimming team.

With their first semester at 麻豆国产AV now completed, members of the Class of 2028 took a moment to look back.

Pastry chef Stephen Durfee 鈥�85 took dessert to the next level 鈥� and the next size 鈥� with the world鈥檚 largest s鈥檓ore. The behemoth treat measured 49 square feet and weighed in at 396 pounds.

Not only did Associate Professor of Chemistry Max Majireck and 20 students and recent graduates from his lab co-author the peer-reviewed cover article for the Nov. 22, 2024, issue of Organic Letters, but one of those students 鈥� Chrissy Crespo 鈥�25 鈥� designed the cover.

National and regional news organizations regularly interview 麻豆国产AV faculty, staff, alumni, and students for their expertise and perspectives on current events, and to feature programs and activities on campus. November鈥檚 news topics included varied subjects from the Federal Reserve to election polling to awkward holiday situations.

麻豆国产AV professor Charles Collett recently became a member of the College Choir, a group traditionally made up of student singers. He talked about rehearsing and performing, as well as his inspiration for joining.
