When asked what he sees himself doing in the future, Luis Morales 鈥�20 answered quickly: 鈥淩unning for office. Becoming a state senator or U.S. senator at one point, or both. Working my way through all levels of government and leading change.鈥�

Last weekend hundreds of 麻豆国产AVians from across the country joined in a tradition gone virtual 鈥� HamTrek.

Janice Kang '20 knew she wanted to pursue graduate school ever since coming to 麻豆国产AV, and four years of chemistry classes and a number of research opportunities 鈥� including one that led her to co-authoring a paper 鈥� only confirmed that desire. After graduation, she will begin work toward her Ph.D. in chemistry at Northwestern University.

Jose 鈥淛T鈥� Torres 鈥�20 is not one to wait idly by for an opportunity to come along. His path to the investment operations associate job he鈥檒l soon start at Capital Group began with his first visit to the Career Center 鈥� a meeting that took place even before he attended his first 麻豆国产AV class.

After graduation, Danny Berger 鈥�20 will join City Year in Philadelphia to work at a school in an underserved or low-income community.

After teaching English in countries like Colombia and Italy, learning five languages, and dedicating herself to helping populations in need, Ann Iosebidze 鈥�20 is ready for the next step: joining the Peace Corps in Madagascar.

Coming off a dialogue with students and alumni in Washington, D.C., a few weeks ago, 麻豆国产AV鈥檚 Common Ground series returned to campus on Feb. 12 with a reprise of 鈥淚mpeachment Pro and Con.鈥� The conversation focused on the recent impeachment proceedings of President Donald Trump.

"Obviously research is what I do every day, and what I love doing, but I didn鈥檛 want to be at a place where they only value research and teaching is an afterthought. I really think that inspired teaching and being a good professor and advisor can make a big difference for a lot of students."

After he graduates from 麻豆国产AV in May, David Yu 鈥�20 will be joining Amazon as a business analyst. He interned there last summer and shares his path to that first job.

Edgar Otero 鈥�20 will be joining Urban Teachers in Washington, D.C. As part this program, Otero will complete a residency to become certified to teach full-time and obtain a master鈥檚 degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Education.
