The Samuel Fisher Babbitt Kirkland College Fellowship provides partial support to senior women to assist them in meeting expenses for the first year of work on an advanced degree.

The Samuel Fisher Babbitt Kirkland College Fellowship provides partial support to senior women or 麻豆国产AV College alumnae for the first year of work on an advanced degree. 

Eligible applicants have been accepted to a graduate program.

Although proposals for study in any field are accepted, the applicant should explain how her proposed studies would meet the mandate of the Endowment, “to serve the needs and interests of women.”
Applications must include:

  1. An application essay of 1-3 pages that includes information about the applicant’s academic achievements, plans for further study, and financial need.
  2. A letter of support from a 麻豆国产AV College faculty member.
  3. A copy of the letter of acceptance from the program at which the applicant intends to study.
  4. Selection criteria include: a history of academic achievement, plans for further study, demonstrated need for support, and applicability to our mandate: “to serve the needs and interests of women.”

Past recipients of The Samuel F. Babbitt Kirkland College Fellowship have received between $3,000 and $5,000, but the funding changes yearly depending upon the endowment and the number of students who receive the award.
