Chloe and Olivia Chiota came to Â鶹¹ú²úAV four years ago as a package deal. The identical twins from Southborough, Mass., knew they wanted to play lacrosse together and be challenged academically. Several NESCAC colleges made their list, but one thing stood out about Â鶹¹ú²úAV.

Â鶹¹ú²úAV offers a plethora of opportunities for students to discover their passions. For Maura Calsyn ’95, it was a semester in Washington, D.C., that started her on her career path. Today she is deputy assistant secretary for health policy at the U.S. Department of Health Human Services (HHS) where her work deals with a wide variety of public health issues, including the long-term effects of COVID-19.

As an art history major on the pre-med track, Miriam Lerner ’24 believes that college is a time to explore your passions — even if they differ from your career goals. She has taken advantage of the open curriculum and at the same time, her interest in medicine has grown through her biology research at Â鶹¹ú²úAV. That research led her to a summer internship at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
