Anat Guez
Lecturer in Hebrew
Anat Guez, a senior lecturer of modern Hebrew, has a master's degree in Jewish studies from Gratz College and an undergraduate degree from Haifa University in Israel. Her academic interests include the intersection of Israeli culture, ethnicity and Hebrew language. She incorporates media and film in her instruction. Guez also uses popular music in class as a way to expose students to the Israeli culture. She teaches modern Hebrew at Colgate University.
Erella Brown

Erella Brown鈥檚 work focuses on the interaction of psychoanalysis, literature, and feminism in theatre. In this area her articles deal with effective poetic use of psycho-linguistic models such as the 鈥渉ysteric stage鈥 of feminist playwright Helene Cixous; or the uncanny and its twists of interpretation in E.T.A. Hoffmann, Heinrich Von Kleist, and S. Y. Agnon. Since completing her dissertation on 鈥淎llegory and Irony in the Satirical Work of Hanoch Levin,鈥 Brown continues to publish on contemporary Israeli literature and culture. Her work highlights borders and borderlines situations and developments in Israel鈥檚 society as a means to critique Israeli ideological dilemmas. Brown teaches courses in Hebrew language as well as Israeli culture and Jewish literature.
