Community Chapel is held at 6 p.m. every Sunday the college is in session.

The services are welcoming and ecumenical, open to all:

  • gender identities
  • sexual orientations
  • racial backgrounds
  • religious understandings
  • student, faculty/staff or community member

Our services are grounded in the Protestant Christian tradition, centered on the redemptive nature of Jesus, and guided by the understanding that we do not have an exclusive hold on God’s ways, only that we believe in their power to transform us into a new people. Therefore, we worship, praise and desire communion with this Divine presence, and we invite you to join us in this hope of being part of a just and compassionate community, empowered by the Spirit of Love.

Our service begins with music led by Bob Ford, jazz pianist and congregational singing. A “eucharistic dinner” follows music with a blessing and breaking of the bread, a remembrance of Jesus and his commandment to love one another. Over dinner we hear  a spiritual reflection,  often a meditation from Chaplain Jeff McArn, followed by a time of community prayer, and lighting candles of hope.
