Pavitra Sundar.
Pavitra Sundar, associate professor of literature and creative writing, was invited to present her work on sound and listening in Bombay cinema at Archival Assembly #3 in Berlin, Germany.

The symposium, "Resounding Archives. On the Practice and Politics of Listening to Moving Images," was part of the bi-annual film festival organized by the Arsenal – Institut fu¨r Film und Videokunst between September 17 and 22. Sundar presented an excerpt from her monograph and recent videographic work on the "loving" relationships that cinematic listening inspires.

The event brought together scholars, filmmakers, artists, curators, and other sound practitioners from around the world for a series of intense conversations, exhibitions, and screenings that explored "the material conditions, conceptual challenges and social and aesthetic consequences of archival work with moving image sounds."
