Derek Jones.

Derek Jones, the Irma M. and Robert D. Morris Professor of Economics Emeritus, continues to publish papers and attend conferences following his retirement in the spring of 2023.

Jones published a paper titled “: The Case of Producer Cooperatives” in Volume 12, Issue 2 of the Journal of Entrepreneurial and Organizational Diversity (JEOD). The paper focuses on the typologies he develops to “investigate hypotheses on the effects of producer cooperative (PC) support structures and the internal organizational design of individual PCs on success.”

Jones also wrote about “” in a Jeffrey Pliskinpaper appearing in Wiley-Blackwell’s Encyclopedia of Sociology, Second Edition, edited by George Ritzer and Chris Rojek (2023).

This year Jones attended several conferences, including the Kelso-Rutgers Fellows workshop in January, and more recently, the Oxford (Kellogg College) Employee Ownership Conference. Though he often acts as a discussant at such gatherings, Jones also presented research at these conferences – “” (co-authored with Associate Professor of Economics Jeff Pliskin), and “: Are we there yet?” – both of which have recently appeared in working papers.
