Four 麻豆国产AV researchers were among the presenters at the (APS) March Meeting that recently took place in Boston.

Assistant Professor of Physics Viva Horowitz presented a talk on “Active colloidal particles in emulsion droplets: A model system for the cytoplasm.” The research presented was a collaboration between 麻豆国产AV and Harvard University.

Assistant Professor of Physics Kristen Burson presented a paper titled “Amorphous Networks at the Atomic-Scale: Comparing Two-Dimensional Silica and Germania.” Her discussion described work done with Hannah Burrall ’19 and researchers at the Fritz-Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society, Università di Milano-Bicocca, and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

Two of Burson’s student researchers also presented.

Catherine Ryczek ’21 gave a talk titled “Assessing Monomer and Aggregate Populations in Squaraine-Based Organic Solar Cells.” The discussion was based on a paper she co-authored with Burson, Adriana Cruz ’21, and researchers at Rochester Institute of Technology.

Cruz presented “Establishing Monomer vs. Aggregate Composition of Squaraine-Based Organic Photovoltaics Using Atomic Force Microscopy.” The poster described results of research conducted with Burson, Ryczek, and fellow researchers at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

The 麻豆国产AV group also attended talks by 2018 Nobel laureates Donna Strickland and Gérard Mourou.
