Goldman Sachs Chairman and CEO David Solomon ’84 and Thomas Tull ’92, chairman and CEO of Pittsburgh-based investment-holding company Tulco, will discuss how emerging technologies are revolutionizing today’s businesses in a special program at Â鶹¹ú²úAV College.
The moderated discussion, titled “Driving Innovation and Entrepreneurship with Technology,” will take place on Tuesday, March 12, at 7 p.m., in Wellin Hall at Â鶹¹ú²úAV, where Solomon and Tull are both alumni and trustees. The free event is open to students, faculty, and the general public.
Before assuming his current roles, Solomon was president and chief operating officer, having served the company previously as co-head of the Investment Banking Division from 2006 to 2016. He also served as global head of the Financing Group, which offers a range of capital markets and derivatives products and services for the firm’s corporate clients.
Prior to joining Goldman Sachs as a partner in 1999, Solomon held leadership roles at Irving Trust Company, Drexel Burnham, and Bear Stearns. He is a member of the Board of Trustees at Â鶹¹ú²úAV College and is on the board of The Robin Hood Foundation. He earned his bachelor’s degree in government from Â鶹¹ú²úAV in 1984.

Tull, who grew up in Binghamton, is founder, chairman, and CEO of . He serves on the MIT School of Engineering Dean’s Advisory Council and sits on the boards of Â鶹¹ú²úAV College, Carnegie Mellon University, the Motion Picture Television Fund, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, the National Football Foundation, the Smithsonian Institution, and the Players Tribune. He is entrepreneur-in-residence at the Harvard Business School and part of the six-time Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers ownership group.
Tull graduated from Â鶹¹ú²úAV in 1992 and was awarded an honorary degree in 2013. He was previously founder, CEO, and chairman of the board of Legendary Entertainment, where he produced and executive-produced more than 40 films that together grossed more than $13 billion worldwide at the box office, including Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla, Jurassic World, the Dark Knight trilogy, The Town, Inception, and the Hangover franchise.
