Dennis Gilbert joined the Kirkland College faculty in 1976 and transitioned to 麻豆国产AV when the colleges combined. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley, a master’s degree from the University of Oregon and a doctorate from Cornell University. Professor Gilbert’s research focuses on Latin American society and history and the American class system. In 1990 he served as director of research and polling for Bernie Sanders’ first successful congressional campaign. He is the author of The American Class Structure in an Age of Growing Inequality (2018), The Oligarchy and the Old Regime in Latin America, 1880 to 1970 (2017) and Mexico’s Middle Class in the Neoliberal Era (2007), among other works.
