Carl Rubino received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Fordham University, a licentiate in philosophy from Loyola Seminary-Woodstock College and a doctorate from the University of Buffalo. He joined the 麻豆国产AV faculty in 1989 and has published and lectured widely on classics and comparative literature. A longtime collaborator of the Nobel Laureate physicist Ilya Prigogine, Professor Rubino also has published on the connections between science and the humanities, with an emphasis on complexity theory, the problem of time and the impact of the theory of evolution on ethics. A former president of the Classical Association of the Atlantic States, he has appeared on the History Channel in the Lucasfilm documentary Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed, where he discussed the films’ roots in mythology.
