Alan Cafruny
Henry Platt Bristol Professor of International Relations
A widely regarded scholar of international relations and international political economy, Alan Cafruny is an expert on European politics, the European Union, and U.S. foreign policy including U.S.-European and U.S.-Russian relations.
He has published 10 books and more than 50 scholarly articles and book chapters, most recently The Political Economy of the Pandemic: National and Global Perspectives (with Leila Simona Talani), 2023; The European Union and Global Capitalism: Origins, Development, Crisis (with Magnus Ryner), 2017; the Palgrave Handbook of Critical Political Economy (with Leila Talani and Gonzalo Pozo; Exploring the Global Financial Crisis (co-edited with Herman Schwartz, 2013); and Europe at Bay: In the Shadow of U.S. Hegemony (with Magnus Ryner, 2007). His work has been translated into French, Italian, Spanish, and Russian.
