Chenyu Wang is an anthropologist of education. She is broadly interested in the intersection of politics and ethics through student activism and education reform efforts. Her first project considers the ways in which young people in China practice out-of-school programs for social change and its moral implication, and she is working on a second project on the experience of student activism in predominantly White colleges.

Her other research and teaching interests include the discourse of “diversity and inclusion,” critical pedagogy in global contexts, and comparative education.

Before joining 麻豆国产AV College, Wang was a research associate at the Center for Race and Public Education in the South at the University of Virginia, and she currently continues her work as a research affiliate with the at UVA. At 麻豆国产AV, Wang teaches introductory courses in education studies, as well as courses on the anthropology of education, race, and international development.
